Westlaw Asia also integrates with Thomson Reuters’ market leading research database Westlaw Next, for access to Australia, Canada, US and other content, providing a complete solution.

Our new and more powerful search enables results to be filtered by Content Type, by Jurisdiction and also by Legal Topic. Researchers can now narrow results more quickly to identify the most relevant documents to answer their query.

Advanced Search

Get straight to the point by using our advanced search templates for specific content types. This enables researchers to find documents that match a more specific set of criteria in the shortest possible time.

Historic Law Versioning

Are you litigating based on events that took place before the latest law came into force and struggling to find the law as it was on that date?

Westlaw Asia’s unique historic law versioning provides access to a wealth of past legislation versions from selected jurisdictions (Hong Kong, Philippines, United Kingdom), so you can track back from the law in force to historic versions and quickly see what the legal position was at the time. Equally for Hong Kong and United Kingdom legislation, you can search directly for the law as it stood on a particular date. In fact, within the United Kingdom database, you can even search forward in time to see what the law will look like on a future date with our prospective law feature!

Point In Time Search

Researching within a country is easy with the Jurisdiction view. Each jurisdiction has its own tab consolidating all the content from that country in a single collection. Users can then search across all content or drill down into specific databases from that jurisdiction.

Westlaw Asia contains practice area views that will help to focus searches towards a particular area of legal practice, at a national or a regional level.

Enhanced Email Alerts

New and improved Alerts functionality helps users to get results delivered to their inbox based on more specific categorisation. Westlaw Asia’s Alerts functionality works on a regional level providing a new standard of updating.

OnePass Integration

OnePass integration allows you seamless access across your preferred legal solutions platforms all through 1 single login! With the migration of your account to OnePass, all your alerts will be automatically transferred over to your new account and can be re-activated all at the press of a button.

My Folder

This new feature enables customers to save documents that are useful for their research into folders relating to the matters they are working on.

When in a document a user can add this to their folder by clicking on the folder icon next to print/save/email icons.

This then opens a pop-up which enables a user to select an existing folder or to create a new folder and save their selected document into the folder.

Multiple documents can be saved in the folder and then the user move documents into different folders as well as move them to the recycle bin and ultimately delete them.

Highlighting & Annotations

Westlaw Asia now supports customers adding notes and highlights to the service.

Customers can add an overall note on the top of the document using the dropdown at the top.This appears as a yellow post-it note style box at the top of the document.

Highlights are presented as yellow highlights over the text.Notes made within the text are represented by a green N icon,at the start of the highlight.
